Meet the Visionary
Ann Cunningham-Morris is an independent education consultant with over 35 years of experience. She served as the director of professional development for ASCD for 15 years. She has also been a district-level instructional administrator; director of professional learning; high school, middle school, and elementary administrator or teacher leader; classroom teacher; special education resource leader, and job development specialist in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Illinois, California, and Virginia.
Cunningham-Morris has also served as an adjunct professor for several universities and a consultant to many school systems throughout the world in the areas of curriculum development, designing effective professional learning programs, instructional leadership, principal leadership development, assessment literacy, instructional best practices, and supporting high academic achievement for diverse learners. She has contributed to interviews, as well as written articles and blogs on these topics for several professional publications, including ASCD Inservice, District Administration, Curriculum Administrator, and the Journal of Staff Development. She is also a coauthor of the ASCD book, The Principal Influence: A Framework for Developing Leadership Capacity in Principals (2016).
Cunningham-Morris has presented sessions at many national conferences, including ASCD, AASA, NAESP, NASSP, National Title I, and Learning Forward; additionally, she has provided keynote addresses internationally in the Middle East, South Africa, and the Philippines. She also regularly facilitates webinars and provides virtual coaching and support to clients worldwide. Cunningham-Morris received a bachelor's degree in special education from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree in education from Georgia State University. She has completed the Certificate of Advanced Studies program and post-graduate work in educational leadership at Illinois State University and the nonprofit executive leadership program at Georgetown University.
